I’ll be the first to admit that marriage comes with its challenges. My pastor always says, “Marriages are not on automatic pilot.” They require effort and regular maintenance. Just like we get oil changes and tune-ups for our cars, our marriages require us to read books, attend seminars or retreats, plan date nights and get counseling before casual e-mails with dear, dear friends in Argentina or late-night club hopping with 23-year-old school teachers. . . .
